My *Updated* Bucket List

This is the result of finding my first bucket list I made when I was 12 years old and didn't know the value of money.

My *Updated* Bucket List

Remember the days of being in middle school and learning about all the places in the world you could travel to? I couldn't either until I was cleaning my room last week and found my old, 250+ bullet list of things I wanted to do before I die, also known as my bucket list. Let me tell you that this was one of the stupidest things I have ever written. I decided to update it and shrink it. After careful consideration, I have created my new version of my bucket list, comprised of 25 items.

1.) Travel to NYC to watch the ball drop.

2.) Pet a dolphin.

3.) Take a picture with the Hollywood sign.

4.) Participate in a color run.

5.) Get a tattoo.

6.) Own a dog of my own.

7.) Have a fun time at Disney World.

8.) Go skinny dipping.

9.) Watch a Superbowl game in person.

10.) Learn sign language.

11.) Listen to the water fall at Niagara Falls.

12.) Attend a "con".

13.) Shop at the Mall of America.

14.) Complete a 23andMe kit.

15.) Witness a sunrise or sunset from a mountain top.

16.) Make a Christmas Eve box for my family.

17.) Graduate college.

18.) Stargaze from a rooftop.

19.) Live it up at Mardi Gras in New Orleans.

20.) Sing my heart out at a bigtime music festival.

21.) Meet one of my idols.

22.) Release a lantern like Rapunzel.

23.) Conjure something up at the Festival of the Dead in Salem, Massachusetts.

24.) Use my passport to go on a vacation.

25.) Visit all 50 states.

New York, New York: My Journey Through The Big Apple

The middle of New York: Thousands of movie scenes, dozens of songs. We remember the chilling and horrifying Taxi Driver which graced the screens in 1976. Scorsese and his brilliancy. We remember a young Jodie Foster, trapped, afraid, abused on the midnight streets of a dirty and somber city that truly never sleeps. We remember Carrie, yes Carrie Bradshaw with her long, luscious blonde locks aimlessly wandering Madison avenue. So elegant even at the midnight hour. We can still hear Sinatra belt out his ode to the city that houses Central Park, MOMA, the MET, and now Taylor Swift in the summer. This city has character, it has value. It houses a double-entendre of danger and sex. Somehow, the danger transcends into a sexiness. If you can conquer New York, you can conquer anything (in the bedroom). The Big Apple, Gotham, The City that Never Sleeps, I had arrived.

Out of all the playlists and songs I have had over the years, these songs are either relate-able to everyone's life or have been at some point. While they're sad, they're all beautifully composed and sang and deserve appreciation whether they're relate-able to your life currently or not.
