My Trip To See My Old Marching Band Win State

We may have graduated, but that will never stop us from supporting our favorite band members with the Eye of the Tiger at their state competition.

For the first time in 10 years, the James F. Byrnes High School marching band from earned the title of State Champions. A few alumni got together and made the trip to the state competition as fans watching from the stands rather than marchers performing on the field. After years of battling it out with other top bands in the state, we got to witness our old high school finally take home the gold medal. It was an unforgettable day full of screams and tears of joy. The "eye of the tiger" has always been a motivational symbol of pride and perserverance to the Rebel Regiment, so the song "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor holds a very dear place in the heart of every member that passes through this band program.
