In This Article:

Sugarland is a country duo group comprising of Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush. Most importantly, they are my favorite group EVER. If you know me, then you know this. If you don't know me, then hello and welcome to my obsession with Sugarland.

This probably won't be the last time I write about them, but to start off with something fun and to hopefully introduce new people to their music, I decided to list my top 10 Sugarland songs. Enjoy!

1. "Little Miss"

"Little Miss" is my all-time favorite Sugarland song! I can relate to this song the most. For me, this song is about doing everything for everyone and putting your needs last. Someone who is a Little Miss "take[s] less when [they] always give that so much more." But they will soon realize that there is so much more to them then doing everything for everyone.

"Little Miss" came into my life during a time when I was this person. I wanted to make sure that everyone was okay and taken care of; therefore, putting my needs last, thus ruining my sense of self-worth. This song showed me that I didn't need to do that.

2. "On A Roll"

"On A Roll" is that upbeat, living your best life, happy-go-lucky type of song that you will want to listen to with the volume all the way up! This song has a beat that you can't help but walk in time with. With lyrics like, "I got a smile like the sunshine," and "Life is short but so sweet, so cut the cake and let's eat," you can't help but to feel good when you listen and/or sing along!

Did I mention that Jennifer Nettles raps in this song? Because she does and it is amazing! "On The Roll" is the song everyone needs when you just need to smile and feel good.

3. "Still The Same"

"Still The Same" was Sugarland's first single after their five-year hiatus. Every Sugarland fan, including myself, went crazy when we heard they were coming back! This song shows that even after five long years, they are "Still The Same". They've grown and have changed as people, but that passion they have as a group is still there and stronger than ever.

Although this song means a lot to Sugarland fans, this song also makes you feel as if you and your best friend have met up again after years of being apart, but it is as if time froze between you and you've picked back up where you left off. It has a sense of familiarity.

4. "Baby Girl"

"Baby Girl" was the song that got me hooked on Sugarland. I was eight years old when this song came out, and I remember screaming this song at the top of my lungs every time it would come on country radio, heck, I still do that! This is your rags to riches type of song that shows how hard work can make your "dreams come true."

This song is about an aspiring musician wanting to make it big and then does. Although I cannot relate to that aspect, it is still a relatable song because, throughout the song, they repeat the verse, "I love you more than anything in the world, love your Baby Girl." This shows that no matter the trials and tribulations or how successful you become, you'll always be someone to somebody.

5. "Bigger"

"Bigger" explains that even though you feel small right now, as long as you don't give up and know that you're more than enough, "you're going to be bigger." You're going to show those who've put you down that you can rise up and do whatever your heart wants.

"Bigger" is a good motivational song that makes you truly believe in yourself.

6. "Keep You"

I mainly love "Keep You" because it showcases Jennifer Nettles' vocal range. I try to sing along to this song, but I am not able to keep up with how low she can get her voice to go and then how high it can get. It is simply amazing.

Another reason why I love this song is that sometimes, although it's not healthy for you mentally, you just need a good song to listen to when you're feeling sad. For me, this is that song.

7. "It Happens"

"It Happens" is a fun-loving song that tells you to not sweat the small stuff because stuff happens. I am an overthinker, and whenever something happens that is so small, it doesn't really matter. You can guarantee that I will be worrying about it. So, to help me get over it, I always put this song on.

This sone reminds you that sometimes you just need to laugh at the small things that happen. Everyone is going to have an off day for no reason at all, and instead of beating yourself up over it, remember it happens to everyone!

8. "Tuesday's Broken"

"Tuesday's Broken" is a very topical and meaningful song. It brings up issues like school shootings and suicide, but raises the question, "What if we try to reach him with words … asked 'where does it hurt?'"

This song is important for continuing the conversation about mental health and bullying so that we "don't leave it unspoken."

9. "Stay"

"Stay" is a Sugarland classic; whenever people ask me who Sugarland is, I always tell them that they are the country group that sings this song. Other than that, "Stay" is, to simply put it, a beautiful song. It is a song about realization and transformation.

This song is a good reminder that there is no one on this earth who should make you beg for their love; you are strong enough to walk away and get the love you deserve.

10. "Find The Beat Again"

"Find The Beat Again" is good for when you need a pick-me-up song. It acknowledges that you have valid reasons to feel down, but with an upbeat tempo and positive lyrics such as, "Hey! Hey! Things are looking better now. Hey! Hey! Nothing last forever," it reminds you that things will get better.

This is one of those songs that lifts you up and puts a smile on your face!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
