Our generation is one that has gotten a bad rap for many things, but we do have one major thing going for us: we are adventurers. We love to travel or to have new experiences, and that is something that will better us for later in life...not to mention it looks great on a resume.
Here are the top five reasons, based on my personal experience, why you should get out and travel more while you are young.
1. It broadens your worldview
You will not forever be stuck in that western mindset of "me me me" if you get out and see the rest of the world. Life is not all about us and this world is a lot bigger than just Cumming, Georgia. It is a big place with amazing people that will change your life and heart. You never know, you might just become best friends with someone halfway across the globe.

You might see injustice and your heart will wish it could just send peace to everyone in the world. You’ll learn you can’t do that, but you can do something, so you’ll come home and you’ll take action. You will find something to do that will raise money or create some change. It will make your heart feel heavy at times but it is totally worth it.
4. You’ll be empowered to change the world.
You will realize that this big world is full of people who you can help. You may not be able to help everyone, but you can definitely help someone. We all have the ability to change the world for at least one person. That person might only be us or a family member but at least you are creating some change.
5. You will learn to love your home.
Your home it is the constant place that you can come back to, shower, and pack up your bag to leave again. You will see family and they might just adventure with you.
Traveling is not for everyone, but it should be. While you are still young, get out there and travel the world! (And if you’re reading this and are young at heart, this is for you too! Go have an adventure!)
