While summer might look a little different depending on where you are at this year, it doesn't mean you can't enjoy that perfect summer playlist. Over the last few weeks, I have taken the time to create some new playlists with both songs new and old. One of my personal favorites right now is my summertime playlist. My summer playlist features a variety of different songs that make you want to get up and dance. Today, I wanted to share my top 5 favorite songs from this playlist with you.

1. Banana by Conkarah featuring Shaggy

I discovered this song on the iTunes charts before realizing that this song was a popular TikTok sound. It's a super fun song with a unique sound; there's no way it doesn't make you want to get up and dance around your house.

2. Watermelon Sugar by Harry Styles

This summer playlist would not have been complete without including Watermelon Sugar by Harry Styles. This song from his latest album became popular following the release of its' music video. I usually don't gravitate towards Harry Styles but, I don't think there is a better summertime feeling song.

3. Summer Feelings by Lemon Stella featuring Charlie Puth

Summer Feelings is another song I discovered while looking at the iTunes charts. This song was written for the Scoob! movie soundtrack. This song stands out to me because of the beat. Similarly to other Charlie Puth songs, Summer Feelings features a fun beat. So if you are looking for a song with a good beat, this one is perfect for you.

4. Beach House by The Chainsmokers

Beach House is a song was released in 2018 by The Chainsmokers. This song is probably the most different compared to other songs mentioned in this list; but, as a fan of The Chainsmokers I had to include it. The duo actually says the unique sound for this song was inspired by the band, Beach House. Overall, it is one of my favorites on the playlist and I think it is worth checking it out if you haven't heard it.

5. Sun in Our Eyes by MØ and Diplo

Sun in Our Eyes is another song that was released in 2018. I'm not sure how I am just discovering it but I think it is another great summertime song. Unlike other songs, Sun in Our Eyes is a little bit softer. The way I would describe this song would be as one you want to listen to on a drive with the windows down.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
