My Top 10 Songs For A Break-Up

Valentine's Day is officially over, and as some of you already know, things get weird with relationships around this time. I don't know why but sometimes people start to panic around this time a hastily break up with you. People are also disappointed with how their significant others handled the big day and that results in a break up too. The point is breaking up is a part of life and even though it hurts sometimes there are some ways that can make you feel a little better. Personally, I like to do three things if I've been dumped, and not particularly in this order. One is to dedicate a day to wallow and be depressed about the relationship that is now over. This might include devouring a lot of ice cream and watching sad movies, whatever floats your boat. But the deal is that after that day, you need to start to try to get over your pain. This is due to the fact that the truth is that heartbreak is unavoidable in life. More importantly, life will not wait for you to get your act together. The next thing I like to do is go out with my friends. Friends are always a good way to distract yourself and it would hep you to create different memories to focus on, instead of the ones with your ex. The other thing I like to do is listen to break up songs. Now that may seem counterproductive, like your dwelling on the relationship, but really it's about the types of break up songs that you listen to. If you listen to the sad ones which make you want to make up with your ex, then those are not the ones to go with. I recommend the ones that are a little angrier and especially the ones that make you feel as if the whole break up was your idea in the first place. Here are my 10 favorite break-up songs to listen to:

Really Don't Care - Demi Lovato

Favorite lyrics: "Even if the stars and moon collide, I never want you back into my life, you can take your words and all your lies, oh oh oh I really don't care"

Over it - Katherine McPhee

Favorite lyrics: "How I feel, read my lips, because I'm so over, moving on it's my time, you never were a friend of mine"

How Ya Doing? - Little Mix feat. Missy Elliot

Favorite Lyrics: "You called, I missed it, You called, I missed it, You called, and I missed it, Never get back in, tired of listenin' "

Miss Movin' On - Fifth Harmony

Favorite Lyrics: "I'm not the way that I used to be, I took the record off repeat, It killed me but I survived, And now I'm coming alive "

Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) - Kelly Clarkson

Favorite Lyrics: "Think you left me broken down, Think that I'd come running back, Baby you don't know me, cause you're dead wrong"

Irreplaceable - Beyoncé

Favorite Lyrics: "Baby I won't shed a tear for you, I won't lose a wink of sleep, 'Cause the truth of the matter is, Replacing you is so easy"

Gives You Hell - The All American Rejects

Favorite Lyrics: " And truth be told, I miss you, and truth be told I'm lying, When you see my face, Hope it gives you hell"

Take a Bow - Rihanna

Favorite Lyrics: "That was quite a show, very entertaining, but it's over now (but it's over now), go on and take a bow"

Ridin' Solo - Jason Derulo

Favorite Lyrics: "I'm so sorry that it didn't work out I'm moving on, I'm so sorry but it's over now, the pain is gone"

Survivor - Destiny's Child

Favorite Lyrics: "Now that you're out of my life, I'm so much better, You thought that I'd be weak without you, but I'm stronger"

So even if you've recently gone through a break-up don't worry about it... You're a survivor.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
