I love a good story, whether I am reading a book or watching a movie. My favorite genre would have to be romance. I am such a romantic at heart, and I enjoy any type of romance movie because each movie has a different kind of love story in it. So I will name my top 10 romance movies that I tend to watch over and over again. It was a tough decision because I could only name 10, even though I tend to say I love every romance movie I see.
10. "Titanic"
I know what you must be thinking. "Titanic?" Really? I love, love, love this movie. It's considered a classic movie. I think the characters of Jack and Rose really makes love seem possible, no matter what background you may come from. Further, I love how Rose refuses to leave Jack behind on the ship, and stays with him when the vessel sinks. Further, Rose never forgets about Jack after he dies, which is romantic in a way because she never forgets about the man who told her to be adventurous.
9." Love, Rosie"
I just recently saw this movie for the first time a couple months ago. What I really liked about this movie was that Rosie and her best friend Alex fell in love with each other. Before they admitted they had feelings for each other, they married other people. The people they married did not work out. The lesson I learned from this movie is that if you love your best guy friend, he may love you back so don't hold back your feelings.
8. "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days"
I thought this movie was hilarious because both characters used each other, and actually fell in love. The chemistry in this film was on point, and so were the lies which made for a funny reveal as Andie and Ben both drunkenly sang "You're so Vain." But they got back together in the most corniest way ever when Ben chased Andie's taxi over the George Washington Bridge to get her back and say that he loved her.
7. "Endless Love"
I love this movie so much because it is such a cliche teenage romance. Rick girls love boy from the wrong side of the tracks and girl's father tries to break them up. What happens? You probably already know, because you have most definitely seen a movie just like this. (Psst, they end up together).
6. "The Longest Ride"
I'm a sucker for Nicholas Sparks books turned to movie adaptations. This movie is on of my favorite movies because there are two love stories that intertwine with each other. One love story is Sophia and Luke's and they meet an old man, Ira, who tells them about his late wife. Obviously, the old man gives the young couple advice about love and making it work. Also, Scott Eastwood (Luke) isn't bad to look at either.
5. "Remember Me"
I love a good tearjerker movie. And this movie is one of those movies that will leave you destroyed. Robert Pattinson's character, Tyler falls in love with a girl named Allie. Both of them have their own tragedies that they are still coming to terms with. The ending is sad, and will make you cry. I cry every time.
4. "A Walk To Remember"
This is one of my all-time favorite movies ever! I practically have all of the lines in the movie memorized; that's how much I love it. Again, this movie has a very generic plot: Popular bad boy falls in love with the preacher's nerdy daughter. However, in all Nicholas Sparks novels turned movies there is always a tragedy.
3. "Water For Elephants"
I think this film is the most magical of all films in my opinion. It takes place on a circus where a Vet school student dropout falls in love with the circus director's wife. And there's an elephant in the movie and I just love elephants.
2. "The Divergent Movies"
These movies may have action in them but there is also romance. What I like about the main characters, Tris and Four, and their love for each other is that they're equals. Four knows that Tris does not need him fighting her battles, but is there just in case. They trust each other, and their love is a simple love.
1. "The Fault in Our Stars"
Sometimes a romance movie just kills you. I choose "The Fault in Our Stars" as my number one romance movie because it really destroyed me, and makes me cry every time. Gus and Hazel's love story was always going to end up as tragic because either one of them was going to die.
