One of the best things about high school for me was being a part of a singing group. The group I was a member of was known as the "Singing Six" and was expected in my town to be elite due to its illustrious history at Carmi-White Co. High School. I spent three years as a second soprano in the "Singing Six" and I loved every minute of it. I still look at that maroon jacket with pride and joy. But this group was more than just jackets and singing for singing’s sake. I made real relationships with girls I never thought I would have.
Counting our alternates, there were eight of us total. After spending countless hours together after school in rehearsal, we couldn't help but become close. However, closeness came with its issues. There were fights and arguments, of course. We were a group of teenage girls. Whatever issues we had, we all felt real love for each other. I would do anything for any of those girls and I know the feeling would be mutual.
