My (Super Early) Summer Bucket List

Yes, this has been created far too early.

My (Super Early) Summer Bucket List
Rachel Raupp

Once the end of the semester hits, my mind is on summer - even though it's still April. I have the excitement of a child when they hear it's time for recess and the anticipation of a racehorse before the gun goes off. I can't contain my imagination and all the things I want to do for the next four months. Most of them are incredibly basic, some are strange, and others are things that absolutely have to happen in order for me to consider my summer a sweet (and sweaty) success.

1. Have a bonfire.

2. Go to the lake.

3. Tie-dye.

4. Enjoy a day by the pool (once a week).

5. Attend a music festival.

6. Go to a concert.

7. Take a road trip - must be a minimum of two hours to count as a road trip.

8. Watch the sunset - every single night.

9. Have drinks under the stars.

10. Find a job (I'm talking a grown-up job, people).

11. Get tan.

12. Go to the beach (preferably the ocean).

13. Take a vacation.

14. Watch fireworks.

15. Read a book.

16. Write a book.

17. Stay up until the sun rises.

18. Have a girls night out.

19. Have a girls night in.

20. Adopt a puppy.

21. Get highlights (or mermaid hair...definitely mermaid hair).

22. Go social media free for a week.

23. Watch the entire series of a new show (or re-watch my favorites).

24. Go to the movies on a rainy day.

25. Paint a canvas.

26. Go out to brunch.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
