My Senior Bucket List: A Tribute To College

29 things I'd like to do before the final year of the best four years of my life.

My Senior Bucket List: A Tribute To College
Cassandra Michaud

It would actually be positively disrespectful to not go out with a bang senior year, you know? After every good time, friendship and memory my university has given me, I solemnly swear that no matter how many breakdowns I have about WHY? WHY does it have to come to an end? and How am I SO old?! I will turn to this list. I will make the absolute most out of this final chapter and embrace whatever there is for me out there in the real world.

Here it goes:

1. Sing the fight song while at the Corner Club.

2. Attend every ladies' night, unless given a written excuse.

3. Sleep under the stars in the Arboretum.

4. Go on a mini-vacay with my pledge class — they are the ones who have been there literally since day one.

5. Go to the rodeo; Savanah has always talked about going! Even better now that we are 21!

6. Attend at least one game of each school sport.

7. Tailgate every home football game. Win or lose, there’s always …

8. Take a cliché girls' trip to Seattle. Jerrica would totally be all about taking selfies at the gum wall, the first Starbucks (i.e., Mecca), et cetera.

9. Make time for the ones who have always mattered. Little! Coffee dates and sleepovers with cosmos at my apartment whenever, but definitely once a week.

10. Go on a senior bar crawl. BOVILLE!

11. Pop some bubbly on lazy Sunday afternoons with Tay Char. Sophistication.

12. Go on drives through the Palouse blaring country music.

13. Frat hop. Go visit every single fraternity on campus. Oh, and pictures, or it didn't happen.

14. Go to a music festival. How in the hell has this not happened already?

15. Two words, one destination and an endless amount of hell-raising. LAS VEGAS!

16. Have family dinners with my roommates Caree, Carly and Aubree. Why not take turns destroying a seemingly “simple” Pinterest recipe?

17. Do the ladder at the Plant pub. Jess has been egging this on since we first turned 21. We got to suck it up.

18. Attempt to climb the “I” water tower.

19. Get a free bagel at Bagel Shop, God’s gift to bagel sandwiches.

20. Drink margs at Patty’s until the day it closes up in protection from Moscow’s freezing winters.

21. Karaoke until I just can't sing anymore at CJ’s.

22. Go to a concert at John’s Alley.

23. Pull an all-nighter. The twist? No homework permitted.

24. Go out to happy hour with people with the same major. It is always easy to talk about what you're passionate about and even easier when you share that passion with someone else.

25. Always be on the hunt for job opportunities. Something has to consume me after graduation.

26. Don't lose sight of the finish line, graduation. Stay on top of classes while balancing a social and extracurricular life.

27. Have a cap crafting party to reminisce on all the years spent with my Alpha Phi sissies.

28. Start to plan the first of many annual trips to see my best friends. We promised each other forever. So we MUST!

29. Never forget my college town, the people I met, the memories I made and embrace the journey to come.

College is where you are supposed to find yourself, and I think that is why it is so hard to let go of for those who had a really killer time in college. So here's to the class of 2016! Let's blow this one out of the water!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
