My Relaxing Vacation

"This past week has been wonderful!"

This past week I went on vacation with my family. It was just two of my cousins, my aunt, my mom and I. We didn't go very far only up to Angels Camp, we were only gone for four days. We didn't do much we just stayed inside a lot, we did go swimming a few times.

We had a relaxing week were we all didn't think about work or about stressful things. My mom even left her work phone at home so she wouldn't be tempted to check in. During our week I started a new project; I have been wanting to learn how to cross stitch. I thought that it would be really hard but once I started it everything turned out to be really easy. I am really happy that I spent a few days with my family even though we did nothing we had a wonderful time doing nothing.

We tried a few new dinner recipes on vacation. The first night we made our own pizza. It was funny trying to cook that first night, we didn't nothing were anything was and we even thought of things that we needed but didn't have. But everything turned out great and we had a wonderful first night. The next night we tried gnocchi mac and cheese. When we were making it we searched everywhere for bread crumbs that my cousin swears that she brought with her but no matter how hard we looked we couldn't find it. Finally we just added shredded cheese to the top. I said that we will find the bread crumbs when we are packing up and I was right my cousin put it somewhere and we found it as we were leaving to go home. The last night we had a barbecue with hot dogs and hamburgers. My mom made potato salad and I never realized how much mayo goes into potato salad.

I am so happy that I got to spend this time with my family. My mom just had a horrible week at work last week and I am extremely happy that she could take this time off to relax. I also for some reason had been really stressed so it was wonderful to just sit around and not have a timed schedule we even wanted to go visit Big Trees but we decided not to mainly because we didn't want to and it was going to be close to 100 degrees that day.

One thing that was hilarious about our trip was that Hallmark is having its Christmas in July movie marathon. My aunt likes Hallmark movies so basically we were watching Christmas movies the whole time. It was pretty funny how many Hallmark movies have basically the plot line. I was even predicting the outcome to the movies, it was pretty funny how predictable some movies are.

On the last day after we left we went to Tracy and my mom and cousin both got tattoos. I am really proud of my mom she didn't cry, scream, cuss or anything. Not that I was expecting her to, she was even making jokes when the guy was working. The main joke was that since my mom has been through child birth getting a tattoo should be easy.

This past week has been wonderful! I got to spend a lot of time with my family and did nothing which is so relaxing. Everyone should spend some time with the family this summer with no distractions or work related issues. Maybe even turn off all cell phones so that nothing comes up that can spoil a vacation.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
