Things I Am GOING To Do While Still In My 20s

If I keep saying I WANT to do these things, they'll just be dreams. Saying I am GOING to do them, makes them goals.

1. Start a blog

I have been saying I want to start a blog for so long now and I have never just taken the leap and done it. I have always been afraid that it won't be good enough or I'll want to change something.

The beauty is that I can though. Not many people who blog start out with the best software, their editing skills develop as they see what works best for their vision, and you learn as you go.

2. Travel!

There are so many places I have yet to visit, just in the United States. I am making it a goal to branch out and get away from my Floridian roots of Universal and Disney for a few trips during breaks or even a long weekend.

Don't get me wrong, theme park trips are the best, but I would also love to get out into nature and experience four seasons instead of just two (and maybe a quarter of fall).

3. Try New Things On My Own

There are so many things I wish I would just get out and do but I always hesitate because I have no one to do them with.

That shouldn't stop me!

I want to run a Disney 5k, take a cool fitness class, learn to surf, and I should pursue those dreams whether or not I have someone beside me to share it with.

They're my goals, my passions, and I shouldn't wait on anyone else before acting on them.

4. Learn At Least 3 Signature Dishes

As a college student, I am pretty used to living off of basic meals like mac and cheese and chicken nuggets, but before fully being thrust into adulthood I want to learn a few easier but delicious dishes that I could make for a group of people or just a quiet night at home with a fridge full of leftovers.

They say you'll never learn until you try, so, time to get into that kitchen!

5. Take Risks

Life can be scary and there are always going to be opportunities that pop up which will push you out of your comfort zone.

Deciding to take a leap and just do something is really hard, especially for an over-thinker like myself, but learning new skills and meeting new people from an experience that you pushed yourself to do in the first place is the most rewarding thing.

Make your own list! Don't just sleep on your dreams, make them happen today!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
