Disclaimer: This goes for those of us that happen to be single on this lovely upcoming day. If you are in a relationship, please go have a nice time with your significant other.
February 14 may be considered one of the most dreadful days on the calendar year. As Walgreens sets out the heart shaped boxes of chocolates, teddy bears become massively oversized and reservations at nice restaurants begin to fill up, the single folks feel doomed and “forever alone.”
First, you are not going to be alone forever. Second, the main gist of Valentine’s Day is often forgotten or misconstrued. Many perceive Valentine’s Day as an occasion for lovers to adorn one another with gifts and parade their relationship in front of the world. However, Valentine’s Day is truly a day to celebrate the love that is in our lives and appreciate those we cherish. This does not mean a boyfriend/girlfriend is necessary for celebration.
This Valentine’s Day, if you are single (which is completely OK,) celebrate the love that is in your life – and who do we love more than our best friends? Here are a few reminders about why it’s great to have your best friend be your valentine.
Top 10 Ways a Best Friend Could Be the Perfect Valentine

9. She’ll accompany you for a mani/pedi (in Valentine’s Day colors, of course)
8. She’ll binge watch cheesy rom-coms and quote your favorite lines with you
7. She won’t judge you for eating an entire heart-shaped box of chocolates; she’ll most likely even join you with her own!
6. She’ll engage in a Taylor Swift dance party
5. She won’t judge you for ordering the biggest dish on the menu at dinner
4. She’ll practice makeovers with you so that you’ll feel as gorgeous as possible
3. She’ll encourage more glitter on every Valentine’s Day craft you make
2. She’ll remind you that true love isn’t reserved for relationships; it’s for BFFs also!
