My Future Roommate: You Won't Regret It
Loves U Jeiry

You, my friend, are in for a crazy ride. Thank you for deciding to put up with me. I promise you won't regret it.

We are going to have so much fun in the future. I can't wait to move in together. From crazy nights at karaoke to dinner dates at Applebee's, you are the one who has been there for me in the past and I can't wait to have that atmosphere 24/7.

We became best friends in such a short amount of time and things just clicked. People say that best friends living together is a bad idea but there's something different when it comes to you and me. I know you're probably reading this, rolling your eyes and thinking "here we go with the sappy stuff again" but I can't wait to see what the future has to bring. In the short amount of time that I have known you, you have gotten to know me better than anyone else. Not only are you my best friend and my roommate but you're "my person." (of course I had to make a Grey's reference) You are the one I come to when I need advice. You're who I immediately want to talk to when any event happens in my life (which is about 10 times a day). You're that friend that I see being there for me for a lifetime. Now that I've met you, I can't picture going through anything without you.

We've definitely had our ups and downs. Our friendship hasn't always been the smoothest but I think all of the fights we have been through have made us grow stronger. We are so much alike that sometimes we tend to butt heads about the stupidest things, like me siding with your mom or you being brutally honest with me over a stupid outfit. Even though sometimes I take things way to seriously and sometimes you don't take things seriously enough, I think we are going to make great roommates.

We balance each other out. Even though on somethings we are exactly the same, on others we are as different as can be. You love being home and being in your comfort zone, while I like to move to new places and be away from home. You love your sleep, while I tend to stay up studying. You like acting like a quiet person while I'm a social butterfly. But what I absolutely love is how even though we drive each other insane, at the end of the day we always have each others backs. From yelling at each other through texts to crying about something that happened over the phone, I know that you're always there for me and vice versa. I've never had someone click with me the way that you do.

This year is going to be a roller coaster ride. It's college and it never fails that as students we can go from a personal high to a personal low in a matter of minutes. Regardless, I know that when I hit rock bottom this year, whether it's failing a test or finishing my softball career, you'll be there and give me a shoulder to cry and. I also know that when I accomplish my biggest goals this year you'll be the one there celebrating with me. I hope you know that this is going to be the best year yet!

I can't wait to live with you this year not because you're my best friend but because you're my person.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
