How Much I Love Food

There is nothing worth more than my love for food. Every day I think about food: in the morning, in the afternoon, and during the night. It's nonstop. It's also not just one kind of food; it's more than just one. I crave for different kinds of food each time: nachos, mashed potatoes, hamburgers, macaroni and cheese, ice cream, and many more. But to what extent does my obsession for food reach?

1. I daydream mostly about food.

There's not one day that goes by during class do I not think about food. However, if I was asked, I'd say around second and third period I begin my daily thoughts about my true love. Ranging from various questions, my thought tend to be like I wonder what's for lunch, I can't wait to eat my lunch next period, I'm starving, I wonder what's for dinner too, Is it delicious?, and wow I'm seriously craving for this food. Sometimes I even just imagine eating my food during class and then my best friend asks me what I'm so giddy about.

2. I always ask my parents what I will be eating in the morning, afternoon, and at night.

Each and every day to the point that I'm going to drive my parents crazy. But I can't help it; I'm thrilled to be eating. Food is a necessity to live anyways so what's the big deal asking about what kind of food I would be eating? But anyways, each and every time my parents tell me what is on the menu tonight, I tend to get giddy and overly excited for the upcoming breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

3. I love talking about food.

I talk about food during school and at home. So basically 24/7. I mostly talk with myself about food (I'm not that weird I promise) and sometimes with my friends. For example, when I'm excited about going out to a restaurant, I tend to talk about my excitement with my friends. I don't really expect much of a response; I just love yammering on about food and how I can't wait to taste this food in my mouth.

4. Food perks me up every time.

I have a witness to confirm it. For example, when I received a bad grade, my friend always told me, "Don't worry Jasmine. At least you have your lunch next period." Word for word. She knows this mainly because I always tell her about how I'm super excited to eat my lunch and how I tend to become giddy afterwards. In fact, I'd say she's seen the process of my emotions as I eat.

5. I can't go on a diet.

Always. Even when I try my best, it never works out. Heck, if I was on a diet and someone threw a 16-ounce strip of ribeye in front of me, I'd forget about my diet until I've finished that steak. I always give in to food; It's like the food is calling out for me, begging and begging for me to devour it. Plus, who can resist the savory taste and magnificent aroma emitting from food? But anyways, if I was ever thrown into a one-on-one battle against food, I'd lose in a heartbeat.

Out of a scale from 1-10, I would say that my obsession for food would be around a million.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
