Entering college is difficult. The lack of structure, freedom to roam, and mass amounts of new people fill your days up. Last year I made a decision that I truly think has changed my life. I went Greek. Now Greek life isn’t what the media wants you to think, it’s not anything like Animal Party or House Bunny. It’s not catty yelling and rude comments, rather it’s the people who make my life as happy it is.
My sisters are many things. We are all unique human beings, coming from all different backgrounds, yet we share one very special thing-- our tradition. To me these girls are not just my friends...
They are the ones who pick you up when everything is crumbling down.
They are the ones who have random dance parties to Jonas Brothers with me.
They are the ones who laugh as I make a fool out of myself in Walmart.
They own Olaf onsies and onsies that say “Moose Caboose”.
They are the ones who deface my white boards.
They are the ones who drag me to class.
They are the ones who get me double bacon cheeseburgers.
They listen to my rants.
They tell me when I’m being dumb.
They are the ones who I sit in the bathroom with at 2am talking to.
They are the hug waiting for me at the end of a terrible, no good, rotten day.
They are the ones who eat mass amounts of bread sticks at Olive Garden.
They are my closest confidants, even though secrets don’t exist in our house.
They are my teammates when we play flag football.
They are cheerleaders during Greek Week.
They push me to do my best no matter what.
They never fail to make me smile or not to take life too seriously.
They force me to go outside into nature.
They are who I want to be.
Every single girl in my house has made an impact on my short year being in college. I would lack the confidence to be myself and randomly talk to people if they weren't in my life. I choose these letters that I hold close to my heart for many reasons. I know that I will never regret going Greek. My advice to anyone who is thinking about going Greek, do it. Choose your letters and truly change your life.
