Dear ex-best friend,
I thought it was you and me till the end? I thought nothing would ever change that. Every day we would grow even more proud of the fact that it had been me and you since kindergarten. We would tell it to literally everyone how long we had been friends. We made it through our awkward private elementary school years, through the transition into public middle school, through 4 VERY long years of high school, a year at NMC (Go Hawk Owls!), and into our college years at Michigan State University. We had our entire lives, together, in front of us. Not anymore. You threw it all away, for a boy.
To this day you deny that part. You say we just drifted away. You say we just have different ideas for our lives. I don't believe that. It all changed as soon as he entered your life. You changed as soon as he entered your life. Us changed as soon as he entered your life.
I thought we still had so many memories to make together. I thought we would graduate college side-by-side. I thought we would be each other's maid of honor. What kills me is that you don't care. I don't think it bothers you that we don't have each other. I can't say the same. Every day there is something I wish I could tell you. Everyday. You walking out my life hurt. Do you care? Did it hurt you?
Sincerely,
Your very hurt best friend
