Open Letter To My Coworkers

It's not every day that you get off an elevator and have people compliment you.

Open Letter To My Coworkers

To my smart, selfless, and amazing coworkers,

You all are some of the best. I am so lucky to have a job that I absolutely love and look forward to. How many can say that and mean it? My job would not mean half as much as it does to me if I did not have you all to work with. I am surrounded by the some of the smartest, selfless, fun, and SASSIEST coworkers. I look forward to seeing every one of you, because it’s not every day that you get off an elevator and have people continuously say hi to you and give you compliments (okay, it’s not every day, but most days).

It’s not the waves and compliments that make you all great, it’s everything else you do…

You make me laugh.

Seriously, a twelve-hour shift would be unbearable if I didn’t crack a smile. You manage to turn the bad nights into decent ones, even if you do so by playing a joke on me or doing some ugly dance move down the hall. It’s nice to know that someone is there to make sure I am smiling.

You teach me new things and help when I need it most.

I learn something new on every shift. You don’t mind taking time out of your busy shift to explain something unfamiliar to me, or answer the many questions my nursing brain may come up with. I might also be a little too demanding at times, but I love that you accept it and help me when my to-do list gets to be too much.

You let me vent.

Once again, a twelve-hour shift allows me to talk, talk, talk. It's not always you all that I am talking to, but when I need to vent, you listen. It's typically about boys, school, or how I managed to get poop on my shoe.

You switch shifts with me.

I am sure you roll your eyes when you open that text, or try to ignore me when I am asking at work, but you all always switch me. My busy schedule and I appreciate it more than you know.

You accept me as I am.

I can be a little too much at 2 AM, when I am supposed to be quiet, but am full of energy instead. You all still accept me. You often tell me I am having too much fun, but you always partake in the fun, so I don’t really think you are that mad about it.

You’re my friend.

I love that we make an effort to get together outside of work. That includes breakfast in the morning, game nights, or catching up, while bowling. It helps to work with people you can call your friends.

Lastly, you all make an incredible team.

Love you all,

Tina

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
