With my college graduation encroaching and my soon drop into the real world looming in front of me, I've been doing a ton of self reflection. Now at times like this in your life when your future is unknown and it's giving you near-impossible amounts of anxiety, you tend to dwell on the past. Let me tell you, there's a lot I wish I would have done differently now that college for me will be over in two short weeks. So if you're starting college or if you're even in college still, maybe you can learn from my regrets.
Literally the biggest regret in my entire college existence is that I was an uptight pushover for most of my time here. Like seriously, I wish I could go back and smack myself for all the times I turned down going out and hanging out with my friends to do homework or try to catch on sleep. It's college for god's sake, take a break every once and awhile and gain some actual college experiences. You don't want to be 21 years old looking back saying, "Wow, I'm so glad I took time studying approaches to literature one night instead of going out with my roommates," because in reality, you'll be sitting there mad at yourself for not going out.
Another huge thing I'm mad at myself for is not being active on campus. Seriously, I can count on one hand the number of sporting events I went to. And yes, college sports (especially at smaller schools) can be dull. Let's be honest it's not really about the sport anyway, it's about the tailgates and the experience of being united as a whole with a giant group of people. Sports are free for students so even if you had athleticism, shut up and go to a game with your friends.
