Do you have a sister?
Is she pretty much a reflection of you?
Do people ask if you two are twins constantly?
Do you sometimes say yes for the fun of it?
We do.
My sister and I look a lot alike. Being best friends, we do everything together. We brush our teeth together. We straighten our hair together. We shop together. We even share a room together. My sister and I are inseparable. We always have been. Even if you look at our baby pictures, we're always together.
Since we were little, everyone thought we were twins. And they still do. Everywhere we go they ask if there is an age difference and honestly, sometimes we have a little fun. We always ask them their opinion. As they get nervous and switch their answer a bunch of times, my sister and I are laughing. We get a kick out of their confusion because it is really difficult to see the age difference. As the answers may vary, it is entertaining to listen.
Shopping with a sister, or as she could be called, your best friend, can take hours upon hours. Even though you both MUST look in the same stores, you always look for two different styles; classified as the same but different. It's okay if you don't understand. I'll try to explain...we both may like the same shirt but only one of us will actually end up buying it and wearing it. Either way, the same style or different, it's great when you know what each other likes so one sister can take one half of the store while the other takes the other half.
A key trait when having a sister is honesty. You are not looked at weird if you give your honest opinion because that is what she looks for. For example, she is not afraid to tell you if that shirt looks bad, if those pants you love don't shape you right, if that headband is way too big for your head, if she can dress you because you're doing it all wrong, she'll tell you. It doesn't matter if you have the cutest top in the world on. If she doesn't like it, she'll tell you.
Asking your sister's opinion means the world to you and vice-versa. You ask each other for opinions on everything, including boys. If you both cannot agree, it won't happen.
Because if one sister doesn't approve...it's the end of the world. But don't worry sisters are always closer than any relationship anyway. If anyone comes in between a sister bond, they are so gone. A sister bond is a true bond from birth that can be only expressed through sister love. It is unbreakable.
Sisters come first. It's one of the best known unwritten rules out there. She is your ultimate, already built in, best friend. She is family. And I wouldn't want it any other way.
Love you best friend.
Keep smiling.
