It’s a big world out there. The beauty of our planet is the diversity both in history and nature. There is a lot to see out there. With that in mind, here are the five places I want to go before I kick the bucket.
1. Los Angeles
Technically speaking, I have already been to LA. But I was too young to remember much of that experience. Beyond the fact that my dad grew up in SoCal, I love movies. LA and Hollywood are the film capitals of the world, and I’ve always wanted to experience the history and industry of film. Plus, the sunshine and palm trees are always nice too.
2. Israel
This is as much because of my faith as it is anything else. I would want nothing more than to walk on the same ground that my Savior walked on – to see, with my own eyes, the place where the Bible events actually happened. For me, Israel is the home of the history that shaped the faith that shapes me each and every day.
3. Scotland
This one is kind of just a random one. I’ve always thought that Scotland would just be a cool place to go. This is where my family ancestry originates, and I think it would be awesome to see where we came from. Maybe I could learn about my own family history. Also, it’s where golf was invented which is pretty cool too.
4. Greece
Greece also holds a special place in my heart because of one of my favorite Bible stories that happened there in Acts 17. But Greece is also home to tons of important world history. It’s where modern science was born. Everyone who’s been there says it is beautiful, and I would love to see it for myself.
5. Nepal
Nepal is probably the outlier on this list. I can’t explain it, but Nepal has always interested me. It is a place of incredible poverty and need. Living in the tallest mountains in the world are a forgotten people. If I ever go to Nepal, it will be on a mission trip.
These are just the five random places I want to go before I die. Hopefully, I will get there one day. In my mind, God made a big world for a reason. It’s meant to be explored and experienced firsthand.
