We rise together, we fall together.

The One Who Knows Me Best

To my best friend.

Compassionate. Loving. Ambitious. Supportive. Dependable. Authentic. Accepting. Caring.

These are just some of the words I know to describe you, and the incredible human being that you are. I am so blessed to have you in my life. Meeting our first year in University I had no idea that our friendship would blossom into the bond we have today. I owe my college experience to you and I owe all the adrenaline rushes to you.We have molded each other into the best people we can be, and we are tackling this crazy thing called life together. Slowly but surely. So where exactly do you start with things like this? I guess thank you would be a good start.

Thank you for being my best friend.

Thank you for always being there for me.

Thank you for always supporting me in everything I do.

Thank you for pushing me to be my best.

Thank you for letting me be me.

Honestly, these are not the things I want to thank you for, these are the things I expect from you. Just kidding. I want to thank you for all the unconventional things you and I do. The things that sets us apart. The things that make us friendship goals. These are the things that make us who we are, and what makes us so unique.

Thank you for all those midnight study breaks that end up with us going to buffalo wild wings.

Thank you for always being there to break into my crushes’ dorm room.

Thank you for always burning eggs in the morning and calling the fire department.

Thank you for making 8 a.m. calculus bearable.

Thank you for being as tragic as I am.

Our friendship cannot be described in words. Even I get speechless just thinking about it. It’s crazy thinking that even after so long, I'm still not sick of you. Yet. I continue to cherish every moment, every photo, everything that you do that makes the ordinary moments extraordinary. We truly have left an imprint on each other's lives.

Literally.

You’re the one I text in all caps if there is anything exciting going on.

You’re the one that transforms regular nights, nights to remember.

You’re the only one I study calculus with at parties.

Its the moments that we share that are incredible. From buying a camera in hopes to start a youtube channel which we later returned to creating aliases who have far more interesting lives than we do. Running out of overly expensive restaurants to mindless 3 a.m. drives. These are the moments that always put a smile on my face. Then we have our routines that define us as an old married couple. From going to the same restaurant on Friday’s ordering the same food, or stopping by our favorite store usually on Wednesday’s. However, the best part of our bond is our communication. Not only do we speak verbally, but we speak with our eyes. Our 1 a.m In-n-Out stare, our let's-have-a-second-dinner stare, or our what in the world is that person doing stare. We understand each other on many levels, and most importantly on food based level.

But most importantly.

Thank you for everything that you do. Thank you for always putting a smile on my face. For being there in the pits and peaks on a day to day life. For always challenging me to be the best person I can be. Motivating my to always give my best. You are my rock. And I am truly blessed to have you in my life.

We rise together, we fall together.

And thank you for being you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
