“OMG, she is so pretty! Is she a model?” Yes. My best friend is beautiful and a model. But, I am so sick of hearing all of the bullshit questions that come after the “Yeah, she is a model, and like not for Instagram, she's a real model.” Frankly, I am so sick of hearing all of the stereotypes. Models are just regular people with jobs. Modeling is a job, not a personality. Here are some stupid ass stereotypes that I am sick of hearing.
First thing is first, “Whoa, does she eat?”
First of all, don’t say that. It’s rude. And yes. Much more healthily than I do. She also works really hard for the body she has and that does not automatically mean she does not eat. Models are humans, so treat them as such.
“Did she like drop out? She probably didn’t get good grades.”
Why? Because she’s following her dreams and getting amazing opportunities (while going to online school and probably getting better grades than you). I’m sure you don’t assume actors are dumb. Why? Acting is a job too.
“How are you friends with a model? Doesn’t she think she’s better than you?”
THIS ONE KILLS ME! She is still a normal person. Models are people. Modeling is a job! I'm sure there are good and bad people who are models. But just because my best friend is a model, does not mean she thinks she is better than me!
“Ugh being a model must be so easy.”
Oh yeah? Why aren’t you one then? Probably because it’s really hard to balance life, your career, your rent (because just because you model you don't get free shit), your body, and your social life? Also, maintaining a good body and a healthy diet is not easy. Literally I can’t do that for the life of me.
My best friend is a model. That is her job, not her personality. Do not assume things about models because it is idiotic and rude. You are just jealous because you could never do what they do. My best friend is beautiful inside and out and no one should try to judge her based on her career. I love you HP! 10 years strong. Models rock.
