Atmospheric Music mainly focuses on the mood, atmosphere the song will give off as it plays so, as a result, it's mostly instrumentation but it can include vocals. This will be a list of atmospheric music but it will be mostly of Atmospheric Black Metal which is a subgenre of Black Metal. Songs from that sub-genre tend to be over 5 minutes long with black metal elements such as the instrumentation but focusing mainly on the atmosphere that it gives off.

1) Windbruch- No Stars (2013)

Windbruch is an atmospheric/depressive black metal from Russia. This song starts off with a nice piano key for the first 20 seconds before the guitar, bass, and drums come in. Then the piano starts repeating for the rest of the song and synths are used about 2 minutes into the song. These combinations and timing for different use give off a nice atmospheric mood for the listener. This can be used to listen to at night or during a quiet time.

2) Lustre- Echoes of Transcendence

This is a nice peaceful song that gives off space vibes. Notable that the guitar, bass, and drums are used more as a background as synthesizers are more prominent.

3) Violet Cold- Everything You Can Imagine Is Real (2016)

Violet Cold is a one-man atmospheric black metal band from Azerbaijan. The song and album itself give off an atmosphere of space, stars and the mystery about it. An interesting thing to note is that It's an instrumental album only.

4) Violet Cold- Last Day On The Earth (2016)

Another song from Violet Cold and from the 2016 album titled "Magic Night". This song is my favorite from the album and it's fitting to me that this song is the last on the album. I highly recommend listening to this album as it's really good.

5) Burzum- Dunkelheit (1996)

Dunkelheit is one of the songs from Burzum fourth studio album "Filosofem". Right off the bat, the song sounds low quality with a low fi sound. This is done intentionally by Varg, who is the man behind Burzum. The song has the ambient sound and vocals were done by using a headset at the studio, during the recording of the album.

6) Eldamar- Spirit Of The North

At the start of the song the song picks your interest and then you hear the black metal vocals shrieking and then it's gone. The chorus is heard with the drums, guitar, vocals adding a harmony to the chorus making it sound good. The chorus with the occasional black metal vocals make's a nice blend of the song.

Those were some of my favorite atmospheric black metal songs that I enjoy. Hopefully, you enjoyed some or at least tolerated one. Some of these songs can be used for those quiet nights or for a walk in the woods or forest.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
