Growing up, my mom and I had a very strange love for horror movies. We took random rainy weekends to put together a couple new horror movies in the hopes to really scare the pants off of us. Even now, I will watch them by myself just to see if this movie truly will scare me. Over the years I have compiled a list of movies you must see if you are a true horror movie lover.

1. The Shining

For every true horror movie fan, you have to see this classic. This is a true suspense and anticipation builder. Plus, how are you ever supposed to know that Red Rum backward is Murder?

2. Sinister

I have never watched a movie that had such a great plot twist in my life. Not only did this movie scare the crap out of me, but there was an actual plot that kept me on my toes.

3. Halloween

I am not talking about Halloween town from the Disney channel. I am talking about the famous Michael Myers that suddenly appears every Halloween to take revenge on his family. This movie and even sequels were some of the first horror movies that my mom ever showed me. This movie even taught me to never have my ankles linger alongside the bed because I might be pulled under. Definitely worth a watch and they are classics as well!

4. When a Stranger Calls

Growing up being a babysitter to my family and neighborhood families, this movie really spooked me. This is such a realistic thriller that I started keeping all the lights on at night when I babysat.

5. The Conjuring

Now typically I’m not into possession type or supernaturalistic horror movies, but this one got me. This another movie that has an incredible plot, it keeps you on your toes, and makes you jump with every new twist.

6. The Silence of The Lambs

This movie is as if Criminal Minds was a movie in the 1970’s or 1980’s. It is so informative and more so of a mind game than an actual horror movie. It is very psychology and criminal justice based, which is why I love it so much. It really evaluates the serial killer and his motives.

7. Hush

This is my most recent favorite. I watched this movie on Netflix one night thinking that since it was on Netflix that it wouldn’t be any good and it was ok to watch by myself. I thought wrong. If you are looking for a movie to be intense and give you that adrenaline rush from start to finish, this is the movie for you. It is a little dark and at times, gruesome, but well worth it if you can stomach it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
