Have you ever wondered what background music you should listen to while you study? Well, if you are into soothing music like I am, I have a few recommendations for you.
Yiruma
I am a huge fan of Yiruma’s piano works. I can always count of his music pieces to put me in a good, relaxed mood. Often, I am still moved by his music even though I have continually visited the same albums for the past seven years.
Recommended Track: River Flows in You, Maybe.
Helen Jane Long
Long’s piano pieces make perfect rainy day playlists in addition to being background music for studying. I love how her music pieces tell stories. They always help calm me down when I feel stressed about overwhelming school work.
Recommended Track: Goodnight, Wishes.
Enya
If you have not heard how heavenly Enya’s voice is, you’re in for a beautiful treat. Her voice makes me feel comfortable and safe in my own surroundings.
Recommended Track: One By One, Long Long Journey
Joe Hisaishi
You will definitely be familiar with Hisaishi’s works if you have seen any Studio Ghibli movies. His pieces are both lively and calming. I enjoy watching YouTube videos of him conducting during his orchestra concert as well as listening to long playlists that are compiled with the best pieces from his collection.
Recommended Track: Summer, The Rain.
George Winston
My best summer memories are can be recalled by Winston’s music pieces because my family owns his Summer album and have always played it throughout summertime. I also love the album Forest by him.
Recommended Track: Lullaby, Colors/Dance
Tanya and Dorise
If you have not heard of this violin and guitar duo, don’t be taken aback. They are street musicians who perform on the streets of New Orleans, LA. My family and I discovered them when we turned at the corner of the streets on New Year’s Eve, and their performance caught our eyes.
Recommended Track: Hallelujah, Ashokan Farewell
Happy studying!
