I go to Middle Tennessee State University, and at the beginning of the academic year the school hosts a series of events under the title 'MT Engage'. These events range anywhere from educational lectures from professors to musical performances. In this article I will discuss the latter.
To begin, AMP Entertainment is an on-campus organization that brings together students of various majors in the College of Media and Entertainment at MTSU. AMP's goal is to provide students with an opportunity to hone their skills before their careers in the music industry, whether that be as a business person or performer, become a reality. Members of the AMP community were in charge of MT Engage's event that allowed students to musically perform. Students in the organization set up the event, doing everything from booking the acts to setting up the stage and performing.

The students who planned the event did a spectacular job. The musicians who performed were all very good and the event as a whole was successful, in between classes many people stopped and listened to the music.
There was a place to the right of the stage where people could go, dip their hands in paint, and then put their handprints on a board with their signatures. In addition, the concerts were put on in front of the College of Media and Entertainment building, so there are a multitude of students in that area that have an invested interest in music and hearing new performers that they might be working with in the future.
Overall, MT Engage was a successful event that brought together many people of all interests and it was a great opportunity for members of AMP Entertainment to practice honing the skills that will benefit them in the future.
