"Moonrise Kingdom," a popular pick among a whole world of indie films, seems to have found its way into being a poster movie for the taste of this generation. With its signature Wes Anderson aesthetic and quirky surreal plot and characters, this movie has a specific feel to it that has captured the interest of the popular favor.

While there is an entire genre of movies just like this one, I find myself constantly in situations at movie nights and get-togethers when this movie is suggested even though everyone has already seen it.

For those of you who loved this movie but feel that is played out, these movies are the perfect alternatives when you need a movie to watch. This list is not your typical classics that everyone has seen, but hopefully, movies that have gone by under your radar.

1. Swiss Army Man

Winner of many awards including Sundance's 2016 directing award, Swiss Army Man follows the adventure of Daniel Radcliffe and his fellow lost companion as they try to find their way back to civilization.

Daniel Radcliffe's character is an unconventional version of a human that gives him the title of "Swiss Army Man" and leaves the audience questioning what is real or not.

2. Me and Earl and the Dying Girl

A socially awkward high school senior is forced to re-evaluate his relationship with the world around him as he gets to know an old childhood friend after she is diagnosed with leukemia.

The film has a beautiful aesthetic to it as it focuses on how this boy captures his experiences with his camera alongside his friend that he strictly refers to as his "coworker."

3. Beasts of the Southern Wild

A sick father and his daughter living in the remote Delta area discover hidden beauty as they flee the end of the world.

4. Only Lovers Left Alive

A depressed vampire musician finds his place in the modern world as he resparks his never-ending love story with a fellow vampire.

5. A Fantastic Fear of Everything

This aesthetically pleasing film follows the psyche of a crime novelist's research begins to infest his memories and perception of current reality.

6. Big Eyes

Walter Keane becomes one of the most famous painters of the 1950's but in actuality, his wife, Margaret, is the one creating all of his art, this is her story.

7. Frank

An obscure musician finds himself in an unfamiliar spotlight as a pop music group recognizes his talent and aspires to share it with the world.

8. The Royal Tenenbaums

An unusually extraordinary family unexpectedly reunites.

9. Laggies

After receiving an unexpected marriage proposal a woman in her late twenties re-explores her identity with a group of high school students.

10. The Spectacular Now

A high school superstar who has everything going for him finds a completely new perspective on life as he falls for the typical mysterious "girl next door."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
