Movies I'm Looking Forward to in 2017

If there is one thing I can say with certainty about myself it is that I am an avid movie lover. Watching movies is one of my favorite past times and I especially love going to the movies with my friends. But one thing that I am disappointed about is that last semester I did not go to the movies very often. This year I plan to fix that and go to see some of the movies coming out in 2017. So here are some of the movies coming out this year that I am excited about going to see.

Logan

Release date: March 3, 2017

The X-men universe is my favorite Marvel universe and this is rumored to be Hugh Jackman's last movie as the Wolverine. That makes me sad and the trailer seems really deep. I'm looking forward to the movie though because I want to see his last performance.

Beauty and the Beast

Release date: March 17, 2017

A tribute to the classic Disney animated movie Beauty and the Beast. I'm looking forward to if they do the movie justice, but with Emma Watson from the Harry Potter series on board, I feel like it will be awesome.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Release date: May 5, 2017

The first Guardians of the Galaxy turned out to be a Marvel movie favorite which makes fans super excited for this sequel. I just really really want to see Baby Groot in action.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

Release date: May 26, 2017

Pirates of the Caribbean is a throwback for me and their last movie came out a while ago. I can't wait to see Johnny Depp's performance again as Captain Jack Sparrow.

Wonder Woman

Release date: June 2, 2017

So excited to have a superhero movie with a strong female lead character. The only good thing about Batman vs. Superman was Wonder Woman so it's great that she is getting her own movie. Hopefully DC doesn't mess it up

Transformers: The Last Knight

Release date: June 23, 2017

I never used to be a fan of the Transformers series but I did go to see the last one and I really enjoyed it, so I am looking forward to this new one.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Release date: July 7, 2017

So many exciting things about this movie. One is that this is a whole new Spider-Man and also it seems like the romantic interest is a woman of color. I hope I like this version of Spider-Man.

War for the Planet of the Apes

Release date: July 14, 2017

The Planet of the Apes movies, although they are not usually my cup of tea I think the last two were both really good. I am looking forward to seeing where they take it from there.

Thor: Ragnarok

Release date: November 3, 2017

Even though there is no trailer out for this movie yet, I am still excited about it. I love Loki and The Hulk is my favorite Marvel character so seeing as they will both be in this movie, it should be great.

Justice League

Release date: November 17, 2017

I feel like I am always excited for DC movies and then I get let down almost every time. But I have high hopes for this movie. Especially for Jason Momoa as Aqua man. Also all the new versions of characters such as Cyborg and The Flash. Fingers crossed that DC gets this movie right.

These are the movies that I'm looking forward to watching in 2017. I hope you all get to enjoy them too

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
