Watching a movie has become the favorite pastime for many people across the world. It is so enchanting to be transported to another world or to be sucked into the cinematic universe. Growing up, I always looked forward to Fridays because that meant some new movies were coming to the theater that my family and I could go see together.

For my household, watching movies became a family activity and we looked forward to it every week. There are countless good movies that have tipped the box-office records and there are bad movies that barely left a dent in our memories.

Then there are movies that are so bad, they are hilarious. These movies are not just bad, they are wonderfully terrible. Instead of groaning in frustration, these movies leave you laughing at the odd directions the film took. Today, let's look at four movies that are so horrendous they are beautiful works of art.

1. The Room

The Room

The Room is its own breed of awful. It centers on a successful banker named Johnny who lives in his San Francisco townhouse with his fiancée, Lisa. However, trouble starts brewing when Lisa decides she is bored with him and seduces his best friend, Mark. This movie is a whirlwind and the viewer is at the center of its destruction.

Not only does this movie have a poorly written script, the acting is so odd and weird it will make you burst out into laughter. You can't help but giggle at the awkward line deliveries and paper-thin plot. This one lives in infamy and needs to be watched at least once.

2. Foodfight!

Food Fight

Foodfight! is an animated movie that is set in the "Marketropolis" supermarket. When the supermarket closes, it transforms into a city where personified well-known marketing icons live. The main character is the heroic cereal mascot Dex Dogtective who is about to propose to his girlfriend Sunshine Goodness, a raisin mascot, when she goes missing. A mystery starts to unfold and now Dex must face new threats and possibly save the supermarket.

This movie is a cluster of everything that is wrong about animated movies. With ugly character designs and amazingly horrendous textures and animation, this movie is just a mess. Not to mention this movie also has a horrible plot and weirdly bad jokes that just mainly center on stereotypes and product placements. For a movie that had a budget of over $60 million, there is no evidence of any true effort. However, it is amazing to watch this train wreck unfold.

3. Birdemic

Birdemic

Birdemic is about a horde of mutated birds that start to attack the town of Half Moon Bay, California. Now two young lovers must find a way to survive the attacks and make it out of this Birdemic. This movie is fantastically awful. It has a feel of a homemade movie with its awful camera work and audio. Just like The Room this movie hired some of the worst actors who read their lines like aliens trying to impersonate humans. I haven't even mentioned that this movie has horrendous bird animation and awful plot progression. Overall, this movie is just way to much fun despite being a cesspool of cinematic failure.

4. Troll 2

Troll 2

Troll 2 is about a young boy named Joshua and his family as they participate in a home exchange vacation where they will move into a house in the community of Nilbog for a month. Before the family leaves, Joshua is contacted by his dead grandfather who warns him that vegetarian goblins want to turn his family into plants through poisoned food or drink in order to eat them. This movie is so famously bad it is forever immortalized in infamy.

Like the previous movies, Troll 2 has some of the weirdest acting as well as a horribly written plot and storyline. There are some scenes in this movie that are so bad and weird that they are still quoted to this day. This movie is definitely a must watch for being so bad, it's fantastically beautiful.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
