Everyone has those moments, when you have two papers, 3 tests and a group project all due in a week but over the weekend you decide to have a nerdy movie marathon instead, because why not. Here are some of the best movie nerdy series to watch instead of doing your homework.

1. "Lord of the Rings"

This series is one of the best to get you away from your homework because they are ridiculously long and will take up the most of your weekend; especially if you watch The Hobbit movies and then the extended editions of the "Lord of the Rings." The 3rd movie all on its own is 3 hours and 21 minutes long, 4 hours extended edition. These movies will take up your entire day even if you only break for snacks and the bathroom.

2. "Harry Potter"

Another amazing series that went from books to movies. These are great to get you away from your homework because right after you watch them, you have to reread the books and then that takes up all of your next week as well. All of the movies put together is 19 hours of magic, friendship, and no homework. Just be like Ron and make Hermione do your homework.

3. "Star Wars"

"Star Wars" is one of the top film franchises ever and certainly deserves that title. If you watch all of the movies, not including the newest one (The Force Awakens) it only takes up about 13 hours. Easily done in one day with full meals instead of just snacks. This is the series to watch if you only want to waste one day of your weekend instead of both of the days.

4. "Star Trek"

Another space-themed series. Though there are only two movies out right now, the third is coming out this summer so you have to re-watch the first and second in preparation for this new movie. And there's always the TV show to watch as well that started the entire movie franchise, which will take up way more than just a weekend. More like a month or two of your time.

5. "Pirates of the Caribbean"

Johnny Depp as a pirate -- who wouldn't want to watch that. All of the movies together are only about 10 hours long. That'll keep you from your homework or studying for a good chunk of time.

6. Disney

Disney movies usually aren't in a series unless it's like "Lion King 1," 1 1/2, and 2 but this is a rare exception as most Disney movies are just on their own. But, if you decide to have a Disney movie marathon, this can take up any amount of time that you want depending on how many movies you choose to watch.

Though there are many other series to watch to get away from your homework or studying for that test, these are the best and can take up various amounts of your time. Because when you have homework to do, the best thing to do is watch a movie.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
