I feel as though everyone has that one quote from a movie that sticks out and stays with them forever.
For me, the movie We Bought a Zoo comes to mind.
It is an amazing and true story about a single dad who decides his family needs a fresh start, so he and his two children move to the most unlikely of places: a zoo. With the help of an eclectic staff, and with many misadventures along the way, the family works to return the dilapidated zoo to its former wonders.
There is a scene when the father, Benjamin Mee, is talking to his son about a girl. His son is embarrassed because he likes this girl and he never knows what to say to her.
Mee says to his son,
"You know, sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage. Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it."
This movie came out in 2011, and to this day it is still my favorite movie quote. This quote is definitely one to lived by because if you literally give yourself the courage to do something than normally something great does come from it.
I know things can get tough when making certain decisions or doing something, but if you make up enough courage to do it, the outcome is normally great.
Another movie quote that comes to mind for me is from the movie Pan's Labyrinth.
The quote comes from Carmen’s funeral, when the priest gives a long eulogy, but the part that sticks out to me the most from his eulogy is when the priest says,
"Because it is in pain that we find the meaning of life."
I find this to be undeniably true.
Sometimes we do not cherish people and things until they are completely gone, and I find this to be sad.
We must feel pain before we can realize the reality of life and all of its meaning.
Although pain does in fact suck, pain can be a good thing. When pain does come, we normally take a step back and view our world entirely and wonder if the things we are doing are really worth it.
I find this to be a good thing because everyone needs a reality check every now and then.
Every movie is filled with great quotes, but it is up to you to find which ones you take to heart.
