Well, the time is here; the end of summer has finally reared its ugly head. As we enter the last week of freedom we need to remember: we can handle another year of school.

Though the month of August may seem like the Sunday of summer, there are some positives to remember. In the coming weeks we get to return to our second homes and pick up where we left off at the end of the school year. Even though for some we left off in a sobbing heap of stress and self-loathing piled on the library floor surrounded by books and laptops and meaningless information, it will be better this year. We have learned our lessons.

Do not procrastinateand life will be better. Last semester’s mental breakdowns have prepared us for the difficulties we will face this upcoming year. We are going to kick finals a*$ this semester, wait and see!

We get to return to our friends, whom we haven’t really seen since we came home. You spend nine months out of twelve with them every year and to go three months without hanging out can be a real bummer. Sure you Snapchat, text, post pictures and tag each other in funny Facebook posts, but nothing beats physically hanging out with some of your really good friends. Also, if you are an upperclassman, chances are you are living with your best friends for during this upcoming school year. This is the year to go crazy making memories and go on amazing adventures. They really were telling the truth when they said college is where you find your forever friends.

As juniors and seniors, we are taking classes we actually enjoy.Since we are nearing the end of our four years, we are mostly taking classes for our majors now. There is a reason you chose to be a history major, an English major, an education major or a biology major: we love it. The classes we get to take reflect our major and though they may be difficult at times, we really do like going to class now. For the freshman and sophomores taking generals, don’t worry; they don’t matter as much as your classes you take towards your major.

If you happen to be a senior this year, guess what?! Graduation is almost here. It will be here sooner than you think. We have one more year, one more year of hard classes, one more year of shitty cafeteria food (if you still happen to live on campus), one more year of seeing your one night stands out and about, one more year of having mental breakdowns, one more year of stressful finals, one more year of college until we are done forever, one more year until real life starts. So let’s make the most of this year, shall we?

Don’t worry, this year is going to be awesome! So, go on and start packing, ordering books, and getting your life back together, because you can handle this year.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
