The following is a legitimate letter I wrote to myself my freshman year on January 29, 2014. We're talking professional letter heading with my phone number and address and everything. I wrote this just in case I were to ever get in a slump in life, whether it was because of school or a girl or family or just life in general. I wrote this because I knew I would need it in the future. I hope this brings you the enlightenment and encouragement that I needed when I was a freshman. Heck. Even now when I'm going into my fourth year as a senior. Senior year? Huh. Who knew?

Dear Trey:

Do you love yourself? Yes or no? The answer is yes! It has always been yes. But, seeing as you have opened this, I bet you're feeling a bit down about yourself. You're feeling defeated. Like you aren't good enough. For anything. Or anybody. Well I'm here to tell you that you are. You are destined for greatness. You are going to do amazing things in the future. Whether you open this next month or next year, you'll already be in a better place than you are RIGHT NOW. You know how I know that? Because great things are going to happen to you soon. I can feel it.

We've been together for 18 years, 5 months, and 19 days. Let's be honest. It was a rough time together. We've had our ups and downs. And look at us! We're still here, because we are in this together. And that's a good thing. But, I have to say, it's not just us. There are others out there that actually wanted to become your friends! Jordan. Magaly. Reagan. Mary. Crystal. Cheyenne. Paige. Sara. Just to name a few (and the most important).

Somwhere, deep down, they all love you. And I hate to break it t you, but no matter how angry you are at one of the , how frustrated they make you, how ridiculous they make you feel, how depressed they make you... You love each and every one of them with all of your heart. Just always remember that. Hopefully, you'll never forget. In case you have (be honest here), you have to tell them that you love them. Text them. Call them. say it to their fae. Tell them and mean it. Because it's true. You really do.

Those are the people that have helped make you into who you are today. Those are the people who have stuck with you through thick and thin. Those are the people who you want to be there for when they need a friend. When they're sad. When they're angry. Then they nee your love, you give them your's because they would give you their's if it were the other way around. Those are the people you want to be in your life because they want you in their's.

So cheer up. Love yourself. Have confidence in everything you do. Because all of your friends do, so why not you? I know you can do it.

Last thing, writer yourself another letter. Something original. Don't just copy this one and call it good, okay?

Have a nice life.

Love,

Trey

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
