Fear, what is it? the Oxford dictionary defines fear as, "an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain, or harm" but fear is much more than that. Fear is the disease that devours man's hope. Fear is a crook in the night that steals the dreams of men and takes away their fight.
The battle with fear is one which man can conquer, but the growth of man's development revolves around its acceptance. Man will always measure negatives in every circumstance in life. It is our nature to have self doubt, pessimism and the thought of failure. These restraints of life are inevitable, however because of these, we strive to better ourselves.
History shows that despite the challenge created by fear, man is willing and accepting to face things head on and is ready to triumph against the barriers of adversity.
Fear is created in the past and lingers in the future, it dwells on the journey as it tries to make us deviate off the path and often run away from life impacting decisions. We must learn that after acceptance, comes the decision of going on the journey and pursuing that goal, or making that life changing decision. The journey will always be tough but overcoming fear was a major step. What is important is learning that on the journey, failure is something that will happen and if we allow failure to triumph consistently without growth, then we have failed ourselves.
Failure is a lesson that we learn so we can get better and be back stronger. It will never be easy, it will never be given to you on a platter. You have to go out and get what you want in this life and having that confidence after failure will always demolish the fear.
The last step in dealing with fear sounds rather simple, but it is not. After you breed success and have accomplished that goal, the most important decision is to move onto the next challenge. It is important that you embrace that fear and realize the power you have and notice you are the one that creates the fear and you are also the one who has the ability to rid the pest that you created.
Marianne Williamson once said " Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others".
Fear has no true control over us unless we allow it too, we control our own destiny.
