Dear Mom,
When I think about the fact that I have you as a mom, I cannot believe how lucky I am. I am so grateful for everything you've taught me, and I know you will continue to teach me even more. I love the fact that I can talk to you about anything. I hear all of my friends complain about their moms or not being able to confide in them, but I can genuinely say I don't have that problem. I feel comfortable telling you about my life, and I could not be more thankful that you gave me that. One of my favorite things we do is our weekly Panera dates. For two hours or so I get to talk to my favorite person about things that vary from what I had for breakfast, to our deepest philosophical beliefs. How cool is it that I have a mom that wants to talk to me about anything? There's also nothing I love more than our car trips together. Whether we're head banging to Hozier, swooning over Ed Sheeran, or admiring different musicals, being in the car with you is one of my favorite things
Now this I don't tell you that often, but your strength amazes me. The way you can come home after a 12-hour workday and still talk to me with a smile on your face. How you are so unapologetically passionate about your beliefs, and how you aren't afraid to tell anyone what you think. The power you have to treat everyone with kindness and respect, no matter the situation. You've given me confidence, and made me appreciate the best things about others and myself. I learn so much from the way I watch you go through life, and there is no one else I would rather have as a role model. Knowing that I get my best qualities from you makes me proud of whom I am, and I am so proud that you're my mom.
Thank you for teaching me about really good music.
Thank you for letting me be selfish sometimes, yet still reminding me of all the things I have to be grateful for.
Thank you for holding me when I cry.
Thank you for telling me everything will be okay.
Thank you for pushing me to do things I'm afraid to do.
Thank you for letting me talk to you.
Thank you for raising me to be kind, loving, and respectful.
Thank you for being the best mom I could have ever imagined.
I love you more.
Love, Hannah
