I was at the mall today, and it was filled with hundreds of mildly panicked patrons, struggling to find a gift appropriate for the woman who had given them life (and often, so much more).
For many of us, Mother's Day is the day where we attempt to express our gratitude and affection for our mothers. We try to shower them with cards, stuffed animals, and lavish meals. However, despite our best efforts, we may fall short of being able to truly articulate the full sentiment in our hearts.
Personally, I've always been a fan of letting music speak where my words failed, and I'm sure many of you subscribe to the same doctrine. So, to help you show your love this Mother's Day, I've compiled a few of my favorite songs dedicated to our moms.
- Drake, "Look What You've Done"
"You deserve it."
"Ain't a woman alive that could take my mama's place."

"I love my mama more than I love myself."
Lupe's fresh take on mom appreciation encompasses every type of mother, whether she be cool, uncool, or passed on. This number reminds everyone to love their mother, regardless of who she is or what she's done.
4. Kanye West, "Hey Mama"
"I just want you to be proud of me."
Kanye's love for his mother shone through this well-known hit, and you can replicate this sentiment to your own madre.
5. Twenty One Pilots, "House of Gold"
"I will make you queen of everything you see."

"You're the queen of my heart."
Relationships between you and your mother can be fraught with intense emotional experiences. If you're ready to echo this through song, then be my guest. Warning: this song can definitely be a tear-jerker. Don't say I didn't warn you.
No matter how you decide to tell your mother how you feel about her, she'll know what you're trying to say: You love her.
(Moms know stuff like that.)
Happy Mother's Day to moms everywhere.

2. 2Pac, "Dear Mama"
