If any of you are like me—and I’m sure you are—Netflix is a staple in your lives. The online media-streaming source offers tons of great shows and movies at an incredibly affordable rate. Netflix is also now producing their own shows and movies, which have almost always been instant hits. From "Orange is the New Black" to "Sense 8," Netflix truly has it all.
In the upcoming year, Netflix is planning on trying to top their stellar year by renewing a bunch of new shows and adding new ones too. Here’s a list of the top five most anticipated shows that are coming to Netflix in 2016.
5. "Daredevil" Season Two
This outstanding new show was met with great reviews from the beginning, but the new season promises to give us even more awesome superhero goodness. While there hasn’t been a lot of information shared on this new season, what we do know is that the Punisher will be a large part of it. So the big question is: Will they fight, or will something worse be coming along?
4. "House of Cards" Season Four
Ah, Frank Underwood. Arguably one of the most interesting characters on TV right now is back for his fourth season. We don’t know a lot about the new season, but after the crazy twists of season three, we know it’s going to be good. The one thing that is almost set in stone is that there will be a new power couple in town, and Frank and Claire might have found their match.
3. "Arrested Development" Season Five
Not many people don’t know about the cult classic "Arrested Development." It’s one of those shows you either think is funny or you don’t, but the all-star cast makes it hard not to love. After Netflix renewed the series back in 2013, we were promised a new season, and they’re delivering! There haven’t been any spoilers released, but we’ll finally get more to the story of a wealthy family who lost everything and the one son who had no choice but to keep them all together.
2. "Orange is the New Black" Season Four
There’s not much I can say here that everyone doesn’t already know. OITNB is amazing. It’s funny, it’s witty, and the characters are captivating. No spoilers have been released, and after last season, the show has a lot to try and top.
1. Fuller House
20 years after the end of "Full House" comes "Fuller House"! This new show is set after the end of season eight, and most of the original cast will return except for the Olsen twins. Not much is really known about the plot of the new show, but if it’s anything like the original, audiences will love to reminisce as we see the next generation of the Tanner family.
From this lineup of amazing shows, 2016 is looking like it might be the best year yet for television. Happy New Year, everybody! May the binge-watching begin.
