We're a little more than two months into the new year, awards season has officially ended and it's time to look forward to the rest of the year in film. Here are the most anticipated remaining movies of 2015:
"Avengers: Age of Ultron"
The next chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe lands on May 1, 2015. The highly anticipated sequel to the 2012 blockbuster "The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron" is set to make a huge box office debut. After S.H.I.E.L.D. was dissolved in "Captain America: the Winter Soldier" and with the Avengers currently on hiatus, Earth no longer has an ongoing organization to maintain peace. Tony Stark jumpstarts an old peacekeeping program called Ultron, a self aware, self-teaching, artificial intelligence. However, Ultron soon decides that humans are in fact the main threat and sets out to eradicate them. It is now up to Ironman, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow and the Hulk, along with newly joined Quick silver, Scarlet Witch and Vision to stop them. Don't miss the next epic chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe on May 1, 2015.
" Star Wars: The Force Awakens"
The next chapter of the Star Wars franchise lands this year with the first part of a brand new trilogy hitting theaters this year. The events of the film take place 30 years after the events of the original trilogy, and will feature many of the original actors reprising their respective roles, including Harrison Ford, Carrie Fischer, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels and Peter Mayhew. New members to the cast include Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong'o and Warwick Davis. Boasting a $200 million budget and ensemble cast such as this, the new Star Wars trilogy is sure to be just as big as, if not bigger than, the original. Don't miss the first part of the franchise revival when it premieres on December 18, 2015.
"Furious 7"
This franchise keeps getting bigger, faster and better with each new chapter. The newest chapter is set to be more advanced than those that come before it, and has many of the original cast returning to reprise their roles, including Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris and the late Paul Walker. Watching the trailer already has me excited! There is a car jumping out of a skyscraper, INTO ANOTHER SKYSCRAPER! Don't miss the premiere of the newest chapter of the franchise on April 3, 2015.
"Jurassic World"
Dinosaurs are ready to roam the Earth and be amongst humans again. Spielberg has teamed with Chris Pratt and John Williams to deliver the fourth chapter of this huge franchise. The park opens for business on June 12, 2015.
