1. Make your bed!

I think many people will agree with me in saying that making your bed in the morning will have positive impacts on you throughout the day. If you make your bed in the morning, you start off your day positively by accomplishing something! I know it seems tedious to do every day, but if you accomplish a simple task right when you wake up it will help you to feel more productive and hopefully more energetic throughout the day.

2. Time to wash your face

Washing your face in the morning is not only good for your skin but it will also wake you up! Don't forget to wet your face with warm water first to open up your pores. Rinsing with cold water after cleansing your face is good for closing those pores back up but it also will give you a little boost of energy to get on with your day!!

3. Breakfast Breakfast Breakfast

I know a lot of people that skip breakfast in the morning, which is fine if you're in a hurry but honestly breakfast is the most important meal of the day y'all! If you have a full day it's a great idea to eat a protein rich breakfast that will be able to sustain you till you have time for lunch. As a college student I know we're all busy and breakfast just sounds like a hassle but when you have class all morning and won't have time to eat till 2, breakfast is truly a necessity to get your day going.

4. Shower

A shower in the morning doesn't have to happen everyday because obviously not all of us wake up in time to hop in the shower, but it can be really helpful in waking you up in the morning!

5. Coffee Coffee!

I know not everyone drinks coffee but a classic cup of joe in the morning will really help to give you that extra caffeine boost on those days you feel as if you're going to fall asleep in your 8 am.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
