Morehouse NSO the apex of the Morehouse freshman experience. Challenging the minds of young freshman as well as opening them to understand today's problems. This is the journey I undertook this past week.
Tuesday was move-in day, if not for pre-summer classes I would Have personally been nervous to make new friends. But instead half of my Tuesday consisted of sitting through 5 hours of registration. It took so long in fact during my wait I went to chic fila with the longest line and still had 2 hours to kill. This was by far the most stressful part of my day. Once my registration was complete I partook in welcome to the house. A series of powerful speeches given by the administration. After that our night was finished.
The next day of our NSO experience was quiet hectic, we had plenty meetings to learn about brotherhood. We also heard from an amazing motivational speaker who also attended Morehouse. He detailed his life of struggles and triumphs through comedy. He also touched on how stepped up his role as big brother once his parents passed raising his soon to famous brother Anthony Mackie ( the boy who got bodied by Eminem in 8 mile). Today is also the day of the parent parting ceremony ( the moment people begin to drink the kool-aid). Parting with my parents was hard since I'm their last child. But I know they will be cool.
The rest of NSO will go unsaid because of the close brotherhood we keep here at Morehouse. If you have not crossed the threshold of brothers than you would be unable to understand the reason many people flock and worship this prestigious college.
Sincerely a new man of Morehouse ✊🏾
