"Game of Thrones" is probably the most exciting fantasy series currently on TV, and with good reason. Their budget can reach millions of dollars per episode, averaging around 6 million US dollars. The reason why these episodes are so expensive isn’t because of the cast, but because of the breathtaking world this stupendous budget helps to create. The large scale of production for "Game of Thrones" is unique for a TV show.
Along with this world comes a great deal of computer-generated content to add on to the magic of the series. The graphics are created with adept precision and detail, making the world of GoT look that much more breathtakingly realistic. Now I don’t know about you, but the dragons are one of my favorite things on the show. Every time I see them on the screen, I get goosebumps. However, one thing I’m not so fond of is the disproportionate amount of female nudity in the series.
Recently, there has been a lot of buzz regarding the level of nudity in the show. Viewers, as well as the cast, have spoken out on multiple social media platforms about this. Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys, has denounced the extent of nudity on screen and suggested subtlety is the way to go. If we are going to have nudity on the show, at least the male to female ratio should be equal.
I’m not saying that the nudity is all bad. Sometimes it does add to the plot. For example, during the first episode, there was a scene between Daenerys and her brother Viserys in which he declares that she is to be married to the king (or Khal) of the Dothraki tribe. The nudity was appropriate because it showed the way Viserys treated Daenerys as some object to be traded as needed. I’m glad he finally got his Golden crown and settled down. A few times the nudity was necessary because it added to the plot, but most of the time it was just a filler to boost the ratings. The amount of butts I’ve seen is far too many than the show needs. I mean, did I really need to see Ramsey’s butt so many times?
If you are a true fantasy fan, there’s no way you wouldn’t appreciate some more dragon action on the show. These babies breathe fire and stay by Khaleesi’s side like the dragon children they are. All I’m saying is that the dragons would do just as well as the nudity because everyone seems to have a liking for those fire-breathing lizards that Daenerys calls her own. I mean, come on, the dragons are total badas*!s. Who wouldn’t want their own dragons? I’m positive that nobody would complain with a little more fire in their life. I personally am hoping that the new season airing this upcoming Sunday has more dragons than nudity.
