Just a girl who's my best friend

Ok, so I've had some pretty good friends in my lifetime. Some from school, some from church, but there's one person out there who really has stood by my side lately and has been what a true friend should be and be like. Her name is Miranda Isabel DeMontier. Miranda has been one of my best friends for quite a bit of time now and it's just an incredible feeling and blessing to be able to have the privilege to call her that. I met her at SoulFest 2016 and we became friends. After that, we talked and eventually we became good friends. After that, we talked some more. When she started dating Zac Phillips, another one of my best friends, we all became three best friends and it's just amazing. Now, I know I don't always treat her like my best friend, it's tough knowing that and I really don't know why or how I don't treat her the way she deserves to be treated and it hurts me a lot. We've both gotten mad before but we quickly resolved and fixed it. Sometimes, I wonder how she still loves me the way she does and it's shocking because after the times we've had a little fallout, I didn't think we'd be friends anymore, and when that was the case, I'd still try to fight for our friendship back and I guess that's why it's a hard feeling because I don't know if I'll succeed in doing so or not and I definitely will not talk about the times we didn't get along perfectly. Talking with her is usually the highlight of my day if working isn't. Now me personally, I like phone calls better than texting, but she's the opposite unfortunately, but we find a way to talk on the phone most of the time. I think it's because hearing her voice makes me feel better, even when I don't need to and/or just because we both don't know how the other truly feels behind our text messages because there's no tone of voice to back it up. We love to have fun and even use crazy head Dan Elliott's dad, Pastor Lee Elliott's name for wordplay like instead of buddy, sometimes she'll call me "budlee". So, we've been on so many fun and amazing and incredible adventures together. I think our first time hanging out was going out to lunch at Plaistow Pizza company with Julia Riley and her friend, Tayia Kocur. Good time, yeah. Then another one of our first adventures was going to see Baby Driver, it was me, her and Zac. We had fun, then we went to Applebee's afterwards. Really good night, that one. We went to Boston to Brigham Hospital when Zac's stepdad was in the hospital after suffering a brain aneurysm. Sad, but me and her still got to head back together and spend some nice quality time together. We have been to Jay Gee's in Methuen to play mini golf and ride go-karts and even share a Mt. Washington sundae, which was 9 SCOOPS OF ICE CREAM! Not surprisingly, we didn't finish it, nor did we really even make a big enough dent in it but overall, another one of my best days ever. On my 22nd birthday, we spent the afternoon and night together, from going to the Manchester mall to see her friend, Rose Totten, who of course is a wonderfully nice friend, we went bowling and then out for a nice dinner at Olive Garden. In a nutshell, my best birthday ever! We have been swimming together, worked out together, we've had pasta night where we make our own HOMEMADE MEATBALLS! ("Kitchen Nightmares" reference lol). We even went to the Deerfield Fair together, which was a weird turnout because it was originally going to be a date night for her and Zac, but I somehow interfered and invited myself, which was a terrible thing for me to do, but after a small mishap (which I won't explain), I was there to comfort her and make her feel better. However, I ate some blooming onion and got extremely sick later that night. We went to Applebee's and tried to eat, however, I threw up later there and just felt awful afterwards. I threw up 4 times that night, my God, what a terrible night when it came to that. We went to Hampton Beach on a warm February night. We went to Hillfest in New Ipswich with Bean and her little sister Morgan, which was fun, we saw Jason Gray, Citizen Way, Mass Anthem and Phil Wickham. We went to Newburyport one night and walked around the boardwalk and got some pizza. We went to Maine one day with our good friend Maddie "Bean" Lewis a.k.a. MY Bean. Definitely one the best days ever, going to the Kittery Outlets and lunch at Bessie's in Ogunquit. We gifted her with a lot of nice things from flowers, chocolate, The Greatest Showman soundtrack, and even a stuffed cow plush whom she calls Moo Bunny. We saw Mass Anthem in concert after a long drive there and back. We saw Avengers: Infinity War, and even got to see the Logic concert for the Bobby Tarantino vs. Everybody Tour at the Xfinity Center. Just overall, we have done a lot together with Zac. Even me and her had some fun times by ourselves. One Friday night, we were going to hang out with a girl whom I still like, Sara Decker-Ortega, but she lost her car keys and couldn't come out, so me and Miranda ended up hanging out just the two of us. We went to the Manchester mall, saw Rose again and even went to Red Robin for dinner. Overall, one of the best nights of my life, even considering I went out with some co-workers afterwards and unexpectedly spent the night at little Brie Bower's house, which was cool but that's a story for another time. We saw U2 with her dad and his girlfriend, and it's still my favorite concert I have been to, even topping any SoulFest concert I've seen. The day Zac left for basic training for the national army guard, I took Miranda out for an afternoon of fun with Bean and her family. Now, the Lewis girls are some of our favorite friends because there's Bean, youngest daughter Macy and of course, the little, adorable middle daughter Morgan, whom I like to call the Morgiest Shmorgiest Morgy Shmorgy (awww). We went over for some lunch and an incredibly fun boat ride along with Macy's friend Tori Larkin. That day has gone down as one of the best days of my life. I even took her out to Carraba's Italian Grill for dinner another night, thanks to youth group leader Heidi Mongeau and her gift to me of 2 $25 gift cards (that's $50 just in case you didn't know) where I had shrimp and scallop pasta and she had lasagna. Recently, Miranda's dad was involved in a tragic accident in South Dakota and it's been tough on her of course because of how close she is with him. So she doesn't know I'm doing this but I wrote this after seeing something she wrote on here about her dad and it influenced me to write this about her. This is a surprise to her so don't say anything! We are going to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri to see Zac's graduation from basic training. I will admit I am nervous because I don't know what to expect but we're bound to have fun I imagine! I love my best friend Miranda Isabel DeMontier a.k.a. Moo Moo Miranda, Moo Bunny, Buddy, Pal, Pooch <3

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
