Happiness Is Homemade

As we get further into fall and closer to winter, the temperature is starting to drop. It's time to start drinking those beautiful, warm drinks which means one thing. . .it's mug season! But if you're anything like me, it's always mug season. Check out a collection of my top fifteen favorite mugs (featuring seven of my own) in my November segment of "Monthly Obsession".

I like to have a little bit of Starbucks with me wherever I go.

This is a no brainer. I grew up at Disneyland - MUST HAVE.

My favorite place in the world and soon to be home is featured on this mug. The only thing better than this mug is waking up in the city itself.

HAMILTON. I am not throwing away my shot. . .of espresso.

Another one of my own - this Levi's mug was handmade and I love the texture.

This mug speaks for itself. A Luke's Diner mug - classic. My obsession with Gilmore Girls is out of control. I'd be one step closer to living out my dream of being a Gilmore with that mug.

For those afternoons when I need little extra something. This mug is in my top two. Not only does it have the cutest design but I always have the best coffee in this mug.

Another Gilmore Girls mug. Not only is it simple and beautiful, but I love the phrase! "In omnia paratus" means "ready for anything" which I definitely feel after I get my morning coffee.

My newest mug in my collection and a special gift from my Big! This mug was a gift during Big/Little week so it has a special place in my heart! Also, look how cute that design is!

Yes, another Hamilton mug. A little bit of motivation for your day and oh so cute.

My all-year obsession: Avocados. Not only are they delicious but look how cute they look on this mug.

Another treasured. handcrafted mug. This one is used for specialty drinks. I can't get over how gorgeous the design is.

My second favorite animal is a koala. How cute is it that the koala is hanging off the handle of the mug??

As you can probably tell, I'm drinking out of this one currently. I got this mug recently as part of my Halloween collection. I chose this mug because I love the meaning behind Sugar Skulls and the colors. This is my top mug at the moment.

Not only are mugs and cats my two favorite things, but I love how classic these look!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
