Moms. Everyone has one and they are all special and unique in their own way. Moms are the ones that know how to help you even when you don't think you need it. The ones who know you better then you may ever know yourself. They understand when you're sad, when you're happy, and especially when you need to start making some changes in your life. Any time you may be feeling down or need someone to talk to, they will always be there. Knowing that your mom is still your #1 fan can get you through even the toughest days.

Speaking not only from personal experience, but from what I've witnessed through other people, there are many times when kids butt heads with their moms. Because our mom's know what is best for us we may not always agree at the time. I don't think I've ever come to find a time when my mom wasn't right at the end of the day. One thing I have noticed is that moving away from my mom, and not being able to see her and talk to her everyday has definitely made us closer. There are many days when I'll be sitting in my apartment after a hard day and the only thing that I really want to do is to talk to my mom. Even just being able to hear her voice again, can help turn my day around.

Having someone who always has your back and who is always willing to help you out is something that you can't match. Not only did your mom give you the best gift ever by giving you life, she also is there for you time and time again even when you may not show the appreciation for her that she deserves. This is one thing that I have always taken for granted. My mom is one of the most self-less and caring people I have ever met. She has a way with people and animals that is one you can't match. Even when she is frustrated or mad about something, she keeps her composure and is able to talk her way out of it. She is patient even when she shouldn't be, and can turn a bad situation into a good one in no time. She does things for her family even when we may not deserve it, and shows us just how special we are every day.

Moms are a breed of their own. They care endlessly, would move mountains for their kids, and are always looking out for their loved ones. Hopefully one day we can all care and love for others like our moms do for us. If we all loved more like our moms then the world would be a much better place. So here's to all the moms out there. We love you and we're forever thankful for you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

There have been many lessons learned.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
