If you have a mom as wonderful, cool, thoughtful, and caring as mine, then you know that trying to express to her how much she means to you is not easy. How do you thank the woman who brought you into the world? The person who has been by your side every day of your life? This is a tough task, but I'm up for the challenge. Mom: you're the best, I owe you, thank you, I love you, and here's why.
You sacrifice for me.
You give me your time, attention, and energy so selflessly. I know you would do anything for our family. Also, thanks for always letting me have the last piece of pie.
You have attended every one of my performances, softball games, and volleyball matches.
You were my biggest fan at my extracurricular activities, even though you probably had better things to do.
Throughout the years you have even volunteered to be a coach, teacher, and leader for my various teams, classes, and clubs.
This is going above and beyond for sure. It takes a ton of patience to work with 10+ kids, but you did it. I was always proud to tell others that my mom was my coach or Girl Scout troop leader.
You never complain.
You've dealt with moody teenagers, worried about us if we were out, cleaned up after us, dried our tears, cooked our meals every night, and you took it all in stride. To this day, I haven't heard one complaint.
When we disagree and I'm wrong, you never say "I told you so."
You let me make my own mistakes and help me learn from them. You gracefully deal with me when I think I know everything.
And most of the time you're right.
It's great to have someone so wise in my corner.
You love unconditionally.
No matter what I do wrong, you forgive me and remind me that you love me no matter what.
You are always there when I need advice.
Whenever I have a problem or need an opinion, you're the first one I call. I wouldn't give up your guidance or words of wisdom for anything.
You spontaneously take me out to eat or bring me a little treat.
It's the biggest pick-me-up when you surprise me. You don't have to do it; but of course, you do.
You work hard to provide for our family.
You make sure we have always had everything we need in life, but you have also taught me to appreciate the things I do have.
You put your trust in me.
You believe in me and trust me to make my own decisions for myself and my future, but you're always there if I need some help.
I consider you to be one of my best friends.
The fact that I feel comfortable talking to you about the same things I talk about with my friends says something about how close we are. Our relationship is something I will never take for granted.
Your life lessons are so valuable.
You have taught me so many things that I am able to count on for the rest of my life. "Health is wealth," "Make the best of it," and "Never forget where you came from" are some of my favorites.
You are the perfect example of the mother I want to be.
