When I was younger, and everyone would share who their hero was, most people would say somebody famous or a fictional character. Me? I could never pinpoint mine. I felt like my answer always had to be like theirs when really my answer has always been the same.
My mom is my hero.
I have never seen a person juggle so much and still have such a bright light surrounding them. Not only is she a full-time mom, wife, and employee all at the same time, she just recently finished her master's degree. I mean seriously, my mom is Superwoman.
She has not only kissed all of the boo-boos, gone to all of the plays, cheered at all of the games, and given the most needed hugs, she has also taught me so many important things that I have carried with me which made me the woman I am today.
Without her support and her love, I don't know if I would be in college, or if my life would be completely different than it is now, but what I do know, is that who I am today is because of her.
So thank you, Mom. Thank you for dropping everything when I needed you, for waking up in the middle of the night with me when I was sick, for singing me to sleep, and for making sure that I know how special I am because you never showed me otherwise.
You know people always say that they see a lot of you in me, and I really hope that's true because if I grow to be half the woman that you are someday, I think I would be a great role model to my own daughter if I have one someday.
I may not tell you enough, but I truly appreciate you, Mom, and you really are my hero.
