Dear Mom And Dad, I Will Never Be Able To Thank You Enough

Dear Dad,

I'll start by saying thank you for your sacrifices. I can't even begin to comprehend all that you do for me behind closed doors. You never let me see the hardships you go through, but I know they are there and I want you to know that I have the greatest appreciation for it all. You are strong beyond words.

Thank you for being my biggest protector in every way possible but thank you for raising a strong, independent young woman. Thank you for teaching me the value of hard work. Thank you for giving me everything I ever needed but not giving me everything I ever wanted. Thank you for telling me no. Thank you for being hard on me. I am a better person because of it.

Thank you for always helping me out. You are always there for me. From the day I was born you were preparing me for my future in ways I couldn't understand. Thank you for always helping me practice for lacrosse and soccer. Thank you for helping me with my homework. Thank you for being there for the big moments and everything in between.

Dad, you are my greatest inspiration, I hope you know that.

Thank you for loving me more than any other man ever will.

Dear Mom,

Wow, where do I even begin? The sacrifices you made for me are unmatched. You gave up your dream so I could live mine. You have shown me what true love looks like.

Thank you for raising me right. Thank you for teaching me manners and making me into the person I am today. Thank you for teaching me morals and raising me to always do the right thing. Mom, people always tell me I have a huge heart and I want you to know that that is all because of you.

Thank you for being there to catch every single tear. Thank you for always making me feel better. Thank you for holding me together. Thank you for never letting me go through anything alone. Thank you for being someone I can always count on. Thank you for allowing me to feel comfortable talking to you about anything.

Thank you for teaching me my self-worth. Thank you for teaching me to never settle for anything less than I deserve. I am lucky to have grown up with such a strong woman as my role model.

Mom, I hope you know that everything I am is because of you.

Thank you for being my biggest fan. Your love is unrivaled.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
