To My Modern Day Romeo

Dear Romeo,

At the first sight of you, I knew something special was about to transpire quickly, and I was right. I fell in love with your soul instantly, and the butterflies I felt for you never faded. Valentine's Day is every single day when I have you in my life. Romeo and Juliet had a crazy love. A passionate love. A love that never burned out. In our modern times, you are my Romeo.

We created this beautiful relationship when the world was not always on our side. There have been times where we've made decisions that no one agreed with, but we did what made us happy. We've listened to people tell us that we weren't going to work out and we just laughed. The best part is that being told we couldn't do this made us want to fight even harder. Thank you for always fighting for me, because with that, you have made me feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

You bring me soup when I'm sick, watch Netflix with me when I'm being a home-body, hug me when my day is bad, and laugh with me when I need it most. There's nothing better than laying on the couch and laughing with you over a video we found on the internet or when we share stories from our past. I've found my perfect missing piece and other half during the best years of my life.

The world is constantly changing, and it seems to be nearly impossible to find true love these days, while everyone is so distant from each other due to technology. Somehow you fell into my life and became the most beautiful soul in my life. I trust you with my life, and love you with every part of me. I don't know if you realize what you do for me on a daily basis, but thank you for it all.

So, on this Valentine's Day, I want to thank you for being the most romantic, loving, and gentle person I could have ever fallen in love with. Who said romance had to die? Not us!

Much love,

Juliet.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
