Thank you to the Doctor that changed my life forever.
Let me start from the beginning; I was born on August 22, 1996 in Decorah, Iowa. I was breach, which means I was upside down while I was inside my mom. I know, I was a trouble maker from the start. You (my doctor) turned me so I was no longer breach while I was inside my mom. I was 9 pounds 6 ounces, I had a head full of black hair.
Thanks doc for seeing that mistake. If you didn't turn me, I would have come out butt first. I don't think anybody wants to see that. (Sorry, if I put the image into your head!)
That was the least of our worries, I was still making trouble. Since I was turned, somehow the umbilical cord got wrapped around my neck, TWICE! I think I scared everybody in that delivery room when I was born not breathing. I died. But you and your staff brought me back to life, and I can't even thank you enough.
Since I had “a visit with Jesus,” parts of my brain were damaged. Luckily, the part of my brain that controls my humor wasn't damaged. Because of my brain damage, I have mixed Cerebral palsy, which means I “can't” talk and walk.
I'm not blaming you because I think you caused my cerebral palsy, not at all. I want to thank you for what you did. Hey, you gave me my life. People might not understand why I would be thanking you for what you did. I think that I was put on this earth to make a difference and to teach compassion to others. I wouldn't imagine my life any other way. I wouldn't have the same experiences, and I wouldn't have a unique story to share with everyone! Thank you very much!
To me, everyone should be thankful for their “mistakes” because you will learn from them. You will be a stronger person. You might think they will ruin your life now, but later you will be thank them. Don't think of mistakes in a negative way, think of them in a positive way and the outcome will be better.
